  • Higher Academic Achievement: Along the same lines of the cognitive benefits, bilingual children have been shown to have better critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and greater mental flexibility. All these things result in better academic performance.

  • Cultural Enrichment: Learning a foreign language opens doors that would not otherwise be opened. Learning another language will give your kids the opportunity to learn and appreciate other cultures, to grow up to be a successful and contributing member of society.

Benefits of learning a foreign language:

  • Better Linguistics: Exposing a child to a foreign language at an early age will result in much easier and better fluency than if they learn later in life.

  • Cognitive Benefits: Earning additional languages increases critical thinking skills, creativity, enhanced memory, and flexibility of the mind in young children.

Mrs. Wang is our Mandarin teacher. She is passionate about teaching.  Iris believes that learning a second language such as Chinese presents a great advantage when kids are developing literacy, cognition, and cross-cultural competence at an earlier age.

“I trust that kids have an incredible ability to learn languages. Our theme based Chinese program encourages kids to learn a foreign language from a young age, master the most useful, communicative expressions to build a strong foundation for continuing to learn Chinese as they grow and develop.

Iris has obtained years of practical experience in teaching simplified Mandarin and Chinese culture to students from multiple backgrounds, where she helped create the curriculum and found that the teaching is her passion. She prepares lesson plans and stimulating activities thoroughly to allow for the most efficient learning. She hopes to contribute her positive attitude and effort on the future success of child’s mandarin skills.
